Lake Neusiedler See
Neusiedler see is considered the fourth largest lake in Central Europe, behind Balaton, Boden and Geneva.
Its age is 20 thousand years, it is believed that it appeared as a result of fluctuations in the earth’s crust at the end of the ice age. This flat salt lake is now a popular recreation area and a unique biosphere reserve. Together with its surroundings, it is included in the UNESCO list. Continue reading
Why does Japan have such a flag?
The national flag of Japan is a white cloth with a large scarlet circle in the center, symbolizing the solar disk.
It has been used as an official symbol of the state since 1854, when Japan’s rapid exit from centuries of self-isolation began.
In Japan, along with Buddhism, the original ancient religion is widely spread – Shintoism, the cult of worship of the sun goddess Amaterasu. Continue reading
