Why Is Japan The Land Of The Rising Sun?
The land of the Rising Sun is the poetic name of Japan in European languages. The self-name of the country (Nippon) is indicated on the letter by two hieroglyphs-the sun and the root (or beginning).
That is, literally this phrase can be translated as “the beginning of the sun”, or, in literary translation, sunrise.
