According to some scientists, the Red sea was so named because of the seasonal redness of the water associated with the reproduction of reddish single-celled algae.
However, historians believe that the name of the sea in some ancient languages unknown to modern science did not mean the color of the water, but the location of the sea, and the word “red” in this case means “southern”. Continue reading
